Why Predictions Feel So Accurate

There’s a line from a personality assessment I took a few years ago that I still think about.

“You’re more introspective than you let on. You value real connection, but you’re selective about what you share.”

I read it a few times to a point where I even convinced myself on some level that “this is so accurate.”

The test was the Enneagram. The result was a Type 4. And that line, I later realised, was designed to be true of almost anyone who pauses long enough to take a personality test. Which is to say: everyone who takes it is already the kind of person who resonates with it……
